Shari Jadoolal

Research Assistant

Shari is a research assistant within CPEC and joined in 2021. She is working across multiple projects within the Centre. Her current research has an economic focus and examines social care (long term care), autism and mental health.

Shari completed her undergraduate studies in Psychology and Health Policy at the University of Toronto and her MSc in Global Health Policy at LSE.

Maria is a research officer within Care Policy and Evaluation Centre (CPEC) – LSE and she is teaching social policy related courses in the Department of Social Policy (LSE). In addition to her research post, she is currently doing a PhD in the Department of Health Policy (LSE), and she has been awarded a full scholarship by LSE. Her PhD is focusing on financing long-term care and on reducing inequalities in accessing services for older adults.

She was co-author of the World Alzheimer Report 2016 on “Improving healthcare for people living with dementia: coverage, quality, and costs now and in the future” and of various reports published by Public Health England. She is participating in many research projects related to dementia, reducing inequalities, and improving healthcare services for older adults.

Martin Knapp

Professor of Health and Social Care Policy

Care Policy and Evaluation Centre (CPEC), LSE

Martin is Professor of Health and Social Care Policy in the Department of Health Policy, and Professorial Research Fellow in CPEC. He has been Director of the NIHR School for Social Care Research since 2009, and is also now the Director of the NIHR Research Programme for Social Care.

His current research emphases are primarily dementia, child and adult mental health, social care (long-term care) and autism. Much of his work has an economic focus, and in all of it he explores and aims to tease out policy and practice implications.

Julia Pauschardt

Julia studied the Health Policy, Planning, and Financing MSc at the LSE and is involved in research projects at CPEC related to Dementia and Long-term care.

Before this, Julia worked at King’s Global Health Institute (KGHI) on the third wave of the 10/66 Dementia Research project and Health Systems Research at PAHO/WHO

Louise Robinson

Louise Robinson

Professor of Primary Care and Ageing

Newcastle University

Professor Dame Louise Robinson, is an academic GP and Professor of Primary Care and Ageing at Newcastle University. She was the first GP to be awarded a prestigious NIHR Professorship, followed by a NIHR Senior Investigator award. Professor Robinson also holds a UK Regius Professorship in Ageing and was awarded a Dame hood in 2018 for services to the care and research of older people.

Louise’s personal research programme is focused on improving quality of life and quality of care for older people, especially those living with dementia. She leads 1 of 3 Alzheimer Society national Centres of Excellence on Dementia Care and a NIHR Global Health group on Dementia Prevention and Care. Louise was primary care lead for the Prime Minister’s Dementia Challenge and was a member of the NICE Dementia Care Guidelines development group.

Ben builds and supports clinical research websites for LSE and NIHR with a focus on social care, dementia, mental health and early career research. ​
