Who we are

The RESIDE website is managed and funded by the NIHR School for Social Care Research (SSCR) at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).

SSCR and CPEC are not legal entities. Management of the SSCR and CPEC is led by the LSE and we follow the LSE’s Privacy Policy.

Feedback/Surveys

When visitors fill out a form on the site we collect the data shown in the form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection and avoid repeat displays of completed forms.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Cookies

If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

Log files

Continuous logs are kept of requests received by the Website’s web servers as it is accessed. These logs are used to analyse usage of the Website.

Each log entry includes the internet protocol (IP) address of the client used (typically, though not necessarily, the IP address of the personal computer (PC) used), the type of client used (typically, though not necessarily, the type and version of web browser used), the URL of the page (or object) requested, the URL of the previous page (or object) requested (known as the ‘referrer’ and could relate to this Website or another), and the reference number stored in a cookie created by the Website (if one exists).

Embedded content from other websites

Pages on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

Collection and use of personal data

Personal data is not stored nor captured through the Website without the prior knowledge and consent of Users. Where personal information is captured (e.g. through web-based forms for feedback, registration, requests, posting of comments etc), the User will be informed as to what personal information is being collected, who will use it, and for what purpose(s) it will be used.

Any personal data that you give us will be treated with the utmost care and security. We will hold your personal information on our systems for as long as it is still used for the purpose stated when originally requested.

Should you request that we amend or suppress records containing your personal data, we will endeavour to do so as promptly as practical. However, you may receive communications for a transitional period while we process your records.
